After boarding your comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, you'll receive an overview of the exciting day ahead while traveling to your first destination.
Your first stop is the fascinating Land of Frankincense Museum, where you'll spend approximately one hour exploring the remarkable exhibits. Your guide will lead you through displays showcasing Dhofar's legendary frankincense trade, allowing you to examine historical artifacts and engage with interactive exhibitions that bring the region's past to life.
Experience local life at the vibrant coconut stalls, where you'll have a brief 30-minute stop to sample fresh coconut water and learn about the importance of coconut farming in Dhofar's agricultural landscape. The vendors offer fantastic photo opportunities and a chance to purchase fresh coconuts if desired.
Immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of Al Haffa Traditional Souq, where the aromas of frankincense fill the air. During your one-hour visit, your guide will lead you through the historic market, explaining traditional trading practices while you browse through stalls filled with local crafts, traditional products, and of course, the famous frankincense. This is an excellent opportunity for shopping and capturing the essence of local commerce.
Take a brief visit to one of Dhofar's modern malls, where you can experience the contrast between traditional and contemporary Omani life. This 45-minute stop allows time for refreshments if desired (at own expense).
The afternoon begins with a visit to Ayn Jerziz, where you'll discover one of Dhofar's natural springs. Your guide will explain the importance of these water systems to the region's development and survival, while you enjoy the serene environment and capture beautiful photos of the landscape.
Continue to Ayn Sahlanout, your second spring destination. Here you'll have the opportunity to compare different water sources and understand their unique characteristics. The location offers spectacular photo opportunities and insights into how these natural water sources have shaped local life.
